New York, September 2025 — On the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (#UNGA80), Faces of Impact joined global leaders as private sector partners announced more than US$1 billion in new pledges to the Global Fund’s Eighth Replenishment — a milestone that will accelerate progress against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.
Faces of Impact Founder Artem Shestakov stood alongside leaders from philanthropy, business, and civil society during this historic moment.

The announcements included remarkable commitments from across the private sector: the Gates Foundation pledged US$912 million at the 2025 Goalkeepers event, bringing its lifetime contribution close to US$5 billion; (RED) confirmed a US$75 million pledge, building on nearly two decades of partnership with the Global Fund; the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) committed US$50 million to scale innovative TB diagnostics — its first-ever investment in tuberculosis — complementing earlier HIV-focused initiatives; Goodbye Malaria renewed its support with US$5.5 million dedicated to elimination efforts in Southern Africa; and the Johnson & Johnson Foundation pledged US$5 million to expand Africa’s frontline health workforce.

Alongside these announcements, the Global Fund’s 2025 Results Report revealed that more than 70 million lives have been saved in just two decades — a reminder of what is possible when governments, philanthropy, and the private sector work hand-in-hand.
For Faces of Impact, the moment underscores the importance of cultural storytelling in global health. Beyond the figures, Faces of Impact is committed to highlighting the human stories behind these commitments — honoring community health workers, humanizing donor recognition, and amplifying innovation through exhibitions and recognition platforms.

As the Global Fund prepares for its next three-year grant cycle, this milestone signals both urgency and hope — and a growing recognition that ending AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria will require collaboration across every sector, from governments to grassroots to cultural institutions.
We are especially grateful to Maria Sol Pintos Castro, Deputy Head of Private Sector Engagement at the Global Fund and valued Advisor to Faces of Impact, for inviting us to stand alongside such inspiring partners during this historic occasion.
