Faces of Impact was born from a vision to connect changemakers across cultures and generations. It began in 2023 as a portrait series — a photographer, a subject, and a recorded conversation. In 2025 it was incorporated as Faces of Impact Foundation, when it became clear that the individual portraits mattered less than the record they formed together. The honorees documented so far come from six continents.
From art and science to policy and grassroots movements, our work brings these stories to broad audiences, convenes people across sectors, and builds understanding of how social change happens. At our core is the belief that storytelling is not only about visibility: when lived impact is seen and understood, it becomes a tool for public education and collective action.
We recognize people because recognition draws attention to work that deserves it. Recognition alone doesn't change the world — but it can spark those who do. Our goal is to turn recognition into action: attention that reaches new audiences, a record that outlasts the moment, and connections between people working on the same problems from different directions. The recognition opens the door. The record is what lasts.
Recognition is where we start. Turning it into action — audience, record, and connection — is the work.
Impact over influence.

What is Faces of Impact, and how does it make a difference?
Faces of Impact Foundation is a nonprofit cultural institution built on a simple belief: when real impact is seen, it spreads. We document changemakers working in climate, health, justice, education, and human development — through portraiture, film, publishing, and exhibitions — and bring their stories to public audiences worldwide, turning recognition into understanding.
