Marcus Daniell

New Zealand Tennis Player

Marcus Daniell is a retired New Zealand professional tennis player, best known for winning a bronze medal in men's doubles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics alongside Michael Venus. Over his career, he claimed five ATP doubles titles and reached a career-high ranking of World No. 34 in 2018. Daniell reached Grand Slam quarterfinals at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, competing at the highest level for over a decade. Off the court, he is the founder of High Impact Athletes, an initiative connecting athletes with effective charities. A committed advocate for effective altruism, he is also a member of Giving What We Can and served on the ATP Player Council. After overcoming injury setbacks and a final run using a protected ranking, he officially retired in 2025 at the ASB Classic in Auckland.
