Privacy Policy
Our commitment to your privacy
This policy explains what personal information we collect through facesofimpact.org, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. For the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, Faces of Impact Foundation is the data controller.

Who we are
Faces of Impact Foundation is a nonprofit corporation incorporated in Delaware and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 39-2418674). We document the people driving change in climate, health, justice, education and human development, and bring their work to public audiences through portraiture, film, publishing and exhibitions. You can reach us at info@facesofimpact.org or by post at 2810 N Church St #442685, Wilmington, DE 19802, United States.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us, subscribe to updates, submit a nomination, apply to join us, or make a donation, you may give us your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, organization, and anything you choose to write in a message. If you donate, our payment processor collects your payment details — we receive confirmation of the gift and the information needed to acknowledge it, but we do not receive or store your full card number. Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the page that referred you. This is used to keep the site running and secure. Information from others. If someone nominates you as a subject, or if a partner organization introduces you to us, we may receive your name and professional details from them.
Subjects and portraits
If we photograph, film or interview you for our work, we ask you to sign a release covering how the resulting portraits, footage and text may be used. That release governs the use of your likeness and your interview. This policy governs the ordinary contact and administrative information we hold about you alongside it. We do not publish a subject’s portrait, interview or biography without a signed release. If you are a subject and you want to review, correct or discuss what we hold about you, write to us and we will work it out with you directly.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Ever.
We share information only with service providers who work on our behalf — our website host, email platform, and payment processor — each bound to use information only to provide their service to us; professional advisers such as accountants and attorneys where necessary; and authorities where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people we work with.
Why we use it, and on what basis
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers are largely based there. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your information will be transferred outside your country. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard for these transfers. You may ask us for details of the safeguard that applies.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you email. Write to info@facesofimpact.org and we will respond within thirty days. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
How long we keep it
Donation records are kept for seven years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Mailing-list information is kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries and nominations are kept for up to three years, then deleted unless the relationship is ongoing. Material relating to published work is kept as part of the permanent archive, because the archive is the point of the organization.
Donor privacy
We will not sell, rent, trade or share our donor list with anyone. If you ask to give anonymously, we will not publish your name in any donor listing, annual report or acknowledgment. You can ask at any time to be removed from all fundraising communication while remaining a donor.
Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies necessary to make the site work. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites. If we add analytics, we will update this section with details of the tool and how you can opt out.
Children and security
The site is not directed at children under sixteen and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will post the revised version here with a new effective date, and — where the change affects how we use information you have already given us — tell you directly.
